OUR MASCOT

Hi, I'm Penny, the Mascot of Penny's Paw Pantry. I was adopted into the Thompson family in December of 2014 and immediately decided Adam was “my human.” I was originally supposed to be a present for my mom, whom I love a lot, but I knew from the beginning that Adam would be my best friend in the whole world.

During the first few weeks of being at my new home, I was scared to sleep in my box all by myself and cried all night long. Eventually, Mom and Dad let me sleep in Adam's room, and we became inseparable. I think Adam was scared too, so I was able to sleep on his bed to make certain he was ok.  Adam took me on walks and runs, helped potty train me, taught me tricks, and cared for me. We grew up together with my chihuahua sisters: Josephine, Evangeline, and my newest sister Roseland, along with the evil cat, Maleficent.

After many years of happiness, Adam left for a long time, and I missed him a lot.  Each day, I searched for him and waited by the door.  I was so happy when he would occasionally visit; apparently, he went to a place called “Texas A&M”, a place I wasn't allowed to go.

But then things changed.  This year, Adam took me to a new home without Mom, Dad, Jordan, or my sisters, but with five new people whom I love dearly; it's very nice being the center of attention all the time. They take excellent care of me but realized how expensive I am and wanted to help other people with other pets to be as happy as me.

Now, I am the center of attention. I look after my human, and his new roommates. I make certain everyone has the face-licking they need (to keep them clean), that they get exercise in their arms by throwing tennis balls and toys (which I always bring back for them), and that they get out of their apartment, so I take them for walks and runs. Life now has been restored to proper balance.  I have my human, and my human has me.
